“Images” will soon inaugurate one complete radiology floor at Al Mazaya’s Clover Clinic. The state of the art unit will be managed by Dr Yahya Sulaiman in cooperation with the Global Medical Centre, and will boast the latest General Electric ultra modern Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) system, which offers the world’s second highest resolution – a first for the region. The launch of the dedicated radiology floor together with the selection of an ultra modern system is in line with Al Mazaya’s vision for Clover Clinic, through which the company aims to establish an integrated medical complex that boasts the world’s latest equipment and provides treatment services at competitive rates. The radiology service will be provided on one complete storey within the Global Medical Centre – the Dr Jamal Al Ghanem Centre – which occupies the 10th floor of the Clover Clinic complex. Speaking on the occasion, Engineer Salwa Malhas, Executive Vice President at Al Mazaya Holding, said: “We are delighted with the pace at which Clover Clinic’s floors are being operated and equipped, and we are proud that the complex will reflect the true image of what we have been planning for since the very beginning. Being home to the MRI Optima™ MR450w should serve as evidence of the importance of this integrated medical complex, which is situated at Al Jabriya District. “The completion of construction works at Clover Clinic, the supply of electric power, the provision of state of the art equipment and the pharmacy, among others, are all elements that have contributed to attracting numerous applicants for operating the clinic, and for the few remaining spaces at Clover Clinic. This demand has urged us to carefully evaluate all the applications to ensure compliance with the high standards of what is considered to be the first of its kind medical complex in Kuwait,” she added. Dr Yahya Sulaiman, Consultant and Manager of the Radiology Department, said: “MRI scans remain controversial for patients both inside and outside Kuwait , due to the lack of flexible scanning services at medical centres and hospitals, long waiting lists, and old-fashioned systems. Clover Clinic’s MRI unit will facilitate scanning services for patients at very competitive rates, using the latest technology.” Speaking of the new system, he said: “Optima™ MR450w is the latest technology from General Electric and is considered the highest resolution system in the Middle East, and the second highest in the world. The system features a broad entrance and extra space, which is more convenient for larger patients. The system minimizes the MRI scan processing time to 10 minutes, compared to 30 minutes for other systems. The system also features cooling technology along the scanning path, and patients will be more relaxed during the scanning by having the option of listening to music.” Clover Clinic is one of the most important projects in the healthcare sector in Kuwait, and Al Mazaya’s first investment in this sector. The 4000m² complex is strategically situated in Al Jabriya District, one of the most important areas in Kuwait. The complex consists of 19 floors of 600m² each, along with additional multi-sized clinics of 200, 300 and 600m² respectively. An additional 8-storey facility flanking the main building is allocated for boutique clinic services, with 130m² allotted for each floor. One floor has been designated to radiology and another to physiotherapy, while an 87m² pharmacy, which was recently awarded to Al Mufid Company, will occupy the ground floor. The company has also awarded an integrated medical centre to Dr. Jamal Al Ghanem. Clover Clinic’s amenities include 200 parking spaces in the basement, a valet service, and a number of cafeterias, among others
