For immediate release: Kuwait,27th of June 2010.

• Clover Clinic opens for clinic owner and freelance doctors.
• Clover Pharmacy extends over an area of 87m² on the ground floor.
• Al Mufid Company will cater to the needs of neighboring clinics as well as to the residents of Al Jabiriya District.

Al Mazaya Holding has announced that more than 50% of Clover Clinic, the first integrated medical complex in Kuwait and the company’s first investment in the healthcare sector, which was offered for rent three months ago, has been leased. The project extends over an area of 4000m² in Jabiriya District, one of the most vital areas in the heart of Kuwait. Contracts were signed with a group of renowned brands in the healthcare and medical sectors, and feature the debut of various new medical specialties in the Kuwait healthcare market. Al Mazaya revealed that the concept of the project is to build an integrated medical complex that combines specialized medical clinics, therapy centers and a comprehensive dispensary. The project will attract specialized doctors to work across two medical facilities – firstly doctors who hold licenses to operate in specialist clinics and, secondly, doctors willing to work in a specialized medical dispensary, which will be operated as part of the project. Said Eng. Salwa Malhas, Executive Vice President at Al Mazaya Holding: “We at Al Mazaya have conceptualized this medical real estate project on the basis of an in-depth study conducted on the medical sector in Kuwait, and a comprehensive vision of elements of integrated medical projects. Based on this study, we have developed a balanced plan for “Clover Clinic”, taking into consideration the possibility of gradual growth of the project in response to the recommendations and aspirations of the medical personnel. We can add any medical facility the specialists find necessary while also providing the facilities that will enable Kuwaiti doctors to work on a time-out basis in dispensaries. Clover Clinic will be an integrated project that will provide healthcare services to Kuwaiti People as well as to neighboring countries.” She added: “Al Mazaya has plans in place to further expand the performance of the project in order to make it a more specialized medical center with a wider base of specialized physicians, Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti alike, as well as visitor physicians from all over the world. We plan to implement this after adding a department for outpatient surgeries for dental, pediatrics, dermatology, laser, urology as well as internal outpatients. We are progressing to obtain all the necessary licenses for power supply to the project which we hope to complete as soon as possible.” Dr Ayad Saymah, managing partner of DELTAmed, one company that was awarded a contract for specialized medical consultancy services at Clover Clinic, said: “Since the beginning of Clover Clinic, we expected this project to be successful. There is an urgent need in Kuwait for a specialized medical complex that offers medical services, the highest international standards in terms of highly qualified medical specialists, and modern medical equipment and technologies, among others. We anticipate the project to be a first class medical complex that caters to the needs of people from both inside the country and abroad.” Following an in-depth study of the pharmaceutical sector in the Kuwaiti market, Al Mazaya has attracted a number of bids from renowned pharmacies vying to win the Clover Clinic Pharmacy contract. After evaluating the offers submitted, Al Mufid Company was awarded the contract to operate and manage the 87m² pharmacy on the ground floor. Al Mufid Company has been operating in Kuwait since 1969, and is owned by Dr Anwar Al Turkey and his partners. The company specializes in selling medicine and healthy food to its large base of clients through its 53 qualified employees. Al Mufid represents a large number of international manufacturers of pharmaceutical products. Under Al Mufid Company’s management, Clover Pharmacy will continue its commitment to stay abreast of the latest updates and developments in the pharmaceutical industry, and will supply the market with the latest medicines and healthy products. Said Al Turkey, Partner and General Manager of Al Mufid Company: “The decision to invest in this new project is a brave one. We are confident that the opening of Clover Pharmacy in Clover Clinic will be a successful step forward. We aim, from this venture, to grow and offer the best possible services to the neighboring clinics as well as to the residents of Al Jabiraya District, which is extensively populated and needs a 24 hour pharmacy service. We will introduce some innovative services such as a “Drive Thru” facility, which will enable customers to obtain what they need without stopping or entering the pharmacy. This service will help customers save time and effort, and will assist in handling emergency cases.” Clover Clinic consists of 19 floors of 600m² each, along with additional multi-sized clinics of 200, 300 and 600m² respectively. An additional 7-storey facility flanking the main building is allocated for boutique clinic services, with 130m² allotted for each floor. Furthermore, it boasts several medical laboratories, an x-ray center, a physical therapy center, a specialized pharmacy and a basement that holds 200 cars. Clover Clinic will also provide a number of services for visitors, such as valet parking, cafes, etc.
